  Geo. F. Hankes, ex-town collector, succumbed to the oppresive heat, and died at his home at 233 High street Saturday afternoon. Mr. Hankes had been working on a house in the Big Woods and was overcome by the heat. He was 36 years of age and leaves a wife and four children.
